What is the difference between early feminist writers and contemporary ones such as Maya Angelou?

I think you might want to single out factors in the writings that can vary... like their attitude towards feminism, or the definition of feminism at that time... Stuff specific like that, so it'll be easier for you to single out evidence to support it.
